Specialists of the US Air Force developed a "liquid" armor

Cadet Hailey Weir received a task for coursework, the essence of which was to improve the quality of materials from which bulletproof vests are created. Haley decided that to create a good bulletproof vest, you need to create a material that increases its density exactly in the place where it is affected. In this case, the material should not be destroyed even under heavy loads and serve properly for a long time. Together with their leader, they started experiments, the result of which became new material.

It turned out that, despite the fact that the idea itself is pretty obvious, practically no one was developing in this area, so we had to start everything from the beginning. The epoxy resin and the carbon fiber were mixed, then they were packed into bags and placed in a Kevlar mold. Then the design was tested.

After the material significantly improved, it became clear that the new "body armor" effectively protects against large-caliber bullets, while skipping further those that are smaller. Nevertheless, all three layers of armor failed to pass any of the bullets.
