Specialists of the bioenergy company Euglena joined forces with five more partners in order to build and launch in the test mode the first biofuel plant by 2019. If everything goes well, then in a year Euglena is going to start deliveries of new fuel for cars and airplanes.
The main problem of biofuel production lies in the expediency of the venture. Not only airlines, but ordinary car owners do not object to the use of environmentally friendly and inexpensive fuel, but only to produce such fuel is not profitable from an economic point of view.
To accelerate research in this area, Euglena needs money, so it sells shares, simultaneously seeking partners and investors. His participation in the project was confirmed by the manufacturer of agricultural machinery Kobashi Kogyo, who invested about $ 4 million in the project.
With a good scenario Euglena is going to earn annually on fuel up to one billion dollars a year already by 2030.
