India banned experiment to revitalize the human brain

Back in May 2016, an Indian orthopedic surgeon from a hospital in Uttarakhand, announced that he was going to conduct an interesting experiment with Bioquark from California, during which scientists will try to find out if a person’s brain can be partially regenerated. For this purpose, it was planned to carry out several procedures, including transcranial stimulation of the median nerve and the injection of peptides and stem cells into the brain of people recognized as dead.

Immediately after it became known about the plans of the researchers, the scientific community began to reproach them with the fact that, firstly, it was unethical, and secondly, if I really wanted to do such an experiment, why not try to recheck it all for start on animals? And if the questions of ethics and relevance of such experiments were proposed to be solved with relatives as suitable candidates appeared, the second question remained open.

Other experts say that if irreversible changes have occurred, then absolutely nothing will be possible to restore, so they doubt the advisability of such studies.

Bioquark, a biotechnology company, agreed to provide the necessary drugs, equipment, and specialists for the experiment, and permission was soon obtained to conduct experiments, but as a result, the Indian Council of Medical Research forbade them.
