So, American researchers have found a way to solve the two problems identified above, and developed a new package that will allow food to last up to five hundred times longer! And the wrapper itself can just be taken and eaten.
Make it pretty simple. To do this, it is necessary to mix casein obtained from milk with water, after which it remains only to apply the mixture on a smooth surface and wait until everything is dry. After that, you can wrap in the resulting sheet everything your heart desires, or even cover with a film a jar. Keep on health. As a result of the experiments, it was found out that the addition of glycerin to the initial mixture allows the film to be made softer and more elastic.
The creators of tasty and healthy packaging say that milk film is good in and of itself, because, for example, oatmeal can be packed into it, which, by the way, crunch very appetizing thanks to the sugar they add to it. If you replace sugar with a crunchy edible film, you can kill two birds with one stone - reduce the calorie content of the product and make it tastier and more interesting. You can also replace the tasteless pizza backing made of paper with a casein napkin. But you never know what else interesting you can think of!
The creators of the new packaging say that mass production is still very far away, because the invention is in the early stages of testing. For example, you still need to solve the issue of hygiene, because even the edible packaging needs to be washed before eating.
