Scientists have discovered Cthulhu

A scientist is trying to load his brain into a computer to live forever.

Рэндал Куне

The plans of some scientists look as if taken from the pages of a science fiction novel. What one Dutch neuro engineer is currently working on can give people immortality.

The inventor spoke about plans to create a system that allows him to load his brain into a computer. He hopes to be able to replicate the human brain into a mechanical system.

Randal Kune says that the so-called substrate-independent mind (Substrate-Independent Mind, SIM) is the key to this. According to him, an artificially created exact model of the human brain that emulates its computational activity will be able to give people infinite life.

When I talk about emulation, you should understand this, like, for example, Macintosh emulation on a PC. This is sort of platform-independent code. Substrate-independent intelligence can do this, said Kune at a recent conference in San Francisco.

According to Kune, this is not just artificial intelligence, but the human mind stored in a computer. He says that neuroscientists are 99.9 percent sure that the brain is a computational mechanism, and if you find out how it works, you can create a replacement for it.

The idea of a partial copy of the brain is gaining momentum. Why not do the same with the whole brain? Having loaded the brain into a computer, we will be able to process and store even more information like a machine, putting thoughts into folders and addressing them at any time, ”Kune told Vice magazine.

Kune believes that such a system will give people the opportunity to live in other worlds, including virtual ones. To implement such an ambitious project, he created the organization carboncopies.org, which studies the possibility of the existence of the human mind on an alternative carrier.
