A post-mortem examination of the brain tissue of 22 children aged 2 to 15 years revealed abnormalities in 90 percent of cases. Irregularly shaped areas were found in those areas of the cerebral cortex that are associated with communication and speech. Defects, as the scientists explained, are laid long before birth.
