Сообщество разработчиков

A person has a lot of reasons to feel happy. New research has shown that a positive attitude can increase our intellectual power.

Scientists set out to study whether modern offices equipped with game rooms and recreation areas really do companies more good than harm. It turns out that entertainment at work can significantly increase employee productivity. The study found that happy employees work more efficiently than their colleagues, often under stress.

In the modern labor market, it is increasingly possible to find jobs with interesting offers for spending personal time during breaks for rest and food. Google is one of the first large companies that have equipped their office space with entertainment venues and game rooms.

Google skillfully increases its strength. What's the secret? The researchers were interested in whether the work ethic on the principle “work a lot, rest well” really is one of the components of great success.

For over 30 years, there has been a perception that the best way to increase developer productivity and improve software quality is to focus on people and provide all the incentives that will help them feel happy and happy. But this statement is rarely verified by experiments, according to the work of scientists from the Free University of Bolzano (Free University of Bozen-Bolzano) in Italy.

Researchers confirmed the correctness of the strategy chosen by Google by collecting and analyzing a large amount of data. It was monitored how the emotions and mood of the students participating in the study affect their ability to program, create and solve complex problems, writes the Internet edition of IT World.

In addition to the skills required for writing software, developers must have high analytical skills, be able to think creatively and find a way out of any problem.

Experiments with different emotional states were asked to undergo a series of specialized tests. As it turned out, the feeling of happiness does not increase creativity, but it helps to cope with problems better - this skill is highly valued by companies such as Google.

But the ability to analyze when solving problems depends on the emotional state of the programmer. In particular, the study showed that the most happy (read: life-satisfied) software developers turned out to be more fruitful than their less happy work colleagues.

It turns out that investing in entertainment at work is not only possible but necessary. Now there is a scientific justification.
