Scientists have discovered Cthulhu

The tail of the black hole was first discovered by scientists

Scientists have been studying black holes for a very long time, but only now they were able to detect a black hole turned towards us by a “tail”, the radiation of which could be studied with the help of modern telescopes.

Astronomers today know two types of black holes. The first type is the usual black holes resulting from the collapse of the star, and the second type includes supermassive holes located in the center of galaxies. All black holes are able to absorb energy and throw it out in the form of jets - beams of heated plasma moving at near-light speed. Some scientists believe that black holes of different types should differ in their properties, according to sci-news.com.

Researchers from the European Southern Observatory in Garching (Germany) examined in detail the radio spectrum of the jet, studied its properties and found “overclocked” hydrogen ions in it. Such studies were carried out on the object 4U 1630-47, which consists of a black hole and a large star rotating around it, the matter of which gradually “falls” onto the accretion disk.

"It is interesting that we did not find the lines where they should have been, but we saw that they were significantly shifted," said one of the study's authors, Dr. Miller (Dr James Miller).

The researchers analyzed in detail the spectrum of the ejected jet of a black hole and found traces of an accelerated hydrogen ion inside it. Previously, many astronomers doubted this effect. It is also worth noting that during the observation the structure of the black hole has changed a lot. This is due to the fact that the star-satellite loses its matter, feeding the black hole.

According to well-established theories, black holes suck in absolutely everything that falls within the radius of their forces, including stars and planets, but the researchers found that the supermassive black hole of our Milky Way very “absorbs” the matter absorbed by it. Almost 99 percent of all gas she throws back into space. It follows from this that only one percent of all matter falling within the zone of dominance of the attraction of a black hole falls beyond the event horizon. This discovery not only allows you to open the curtain of secrecy on some stereotypes of models, but also explains the relative tarnish of the nucleus in many galaxies of the Universe.
