The device can be distracting and expensive - these are two reasons not in favor of Google Glass. These are the results of a study conducted by Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. As it turned out, Americans are well aware of Google’s digital glasses: more than half of the surveyed owners of various mobile devices (1210 people) said they knew about the existence of Google Glass. The interest of men in the new gadget was slightly higher than the interest of women, the study said.
About two-thirds of the respondents said that in special cases they could use digital glasses, for example, while resting or traveling. When asked why they do not want to wear new-fashioned digital glasses, two-thirds answered that the glasses are distracting, and one in three considers the price of Google Glass to be too high. The first batch of Glass for developers was sold at a price of $ 1,500 per unit. The price at which the smart device will go into mass consumption has not yet been announced. Others, mostly men, felt that they would look stupid with such glasses.
If Google does not reduce the price of Glass, then according to the survey, it will lose about a third of potential buyers. There were also those who valued Google Glass for only one or two hundred dollars, although the device should undoubtedly cost more.
According to another poll conducted by Bite Interactive in May, only one in ten Americans agrees to wear Google Glass regularly. Everyone else found the device aesthetically unattractive and annoying.
