The first automatic Martian probe China plans to ship already in 2020, and in the next ten years, researchers are going to start collecting samples on the surface of the planet, - reports China Daily with reference to the project manager Zhang Runqiao.
According to him, China plans to conduct an orbital and superficial study of the Red Planet, with the help of one flight.
Two "rabbits" are killed by means of a device consisting of three modules: an orbital flying probe, a landing module and a rover. Orbital module will collect data on the atmosphere of the planet, will study the electromagnetic field, will collect data on temperature and other indicators. Mars rover will take samples on the surface of the planet and help test a number of prototypes of equipment, which in the future they plan to use for further development of the planet.
Previously, research missions to Mars were equipped by specialists from the European Space Agency and NASA. The idea of ESA was realized only partially, since the module intended for surface research crashed during landing. NASA managed to land their rovers on the surface - now they are engaged in research and regularly transmit new data to Earth.
