Despite the fact that scientists regularly discover new forms of life on our planet, the past of our planet is also capable of giving a lot of surprises. For example, according to the journal Scientific Reports, recently Australian paleontologists have discovered a new species of huge herbivorous dinosaurs on the continent, called “savannosaurus”.

Savannosaurus (in Latin, savannasaurus) was about the same height as modern giraffes, and its body length was 15 meters. An interesting point is that the recently discovered species belongs to the genus of tyrannosaurs, and the age of the find is at least 95 million years. Many researchers suggest that at that time tyrannosaurs were the dominant species of dinosaurs on our planet, as confirmed by finds from South America and Africa, dating back to about the same period.

Scientists also hypothesize that dinosaur resettlement occurred between 95 and 150 million years ago, at which time global warming destroyed the natural land route of animals from South America to Australia through Antarctica, which in the future caused a rather strong reptile change within single species.
